The home of Wexford's stringed instrument building enthusiasts.
The Wexford School of Musical Instrument Making offers people a chance to create a unique and individual instrument. In a tranquil and rural setting, you are taught the basic woodwork skills that are required to make the stringed instrument of your choice. You are given the oppurtunity to design the instrument to cater for your specific needs and wants, resulting in a wonderfully unique piece.
Course
Throughout the weekly course, you will become proficient in handling tools and wood, whilst gaining an in depth knowledge of the necessary tools and machinery. All components required can be sourced when needed. Guided by a skilled and knowledgable teacher, students are given the opportunity to try something that they might never otherwise have had the chance to do. From mandolas to dobros, all manner of stringed instruments have been produced at the Wexford School of Musical Instrument Making, with all students surprised and delighted that they have created a truly unique and priceless instrument that not only looks good but sounds great as well!

Furniture Design Course
Also on offer at the Wexford School of Musical Instrument Making are woodwork classes for women. Here you are given the chance to design and create a piece of furniture that is specifically designed for your home using the finest of internationally sourced woods. over the years many fine pieces of furniture have been made, now taking pride of place in the student's homes. In the weekly clesses you are given the chance to handle tools and construct the piece from beginning to end in a sociable and friendly environment.
